A two week visit that I expected to be nothing but a bore in a small german city, Hanover, turned out to be the most unforgettable experience of my life.
Me and my sister went there to visit our brother on his year out of university, within four days we had walked around the whole city at least twice, taken over hundred pictures and tried every ice cream shop.
We felt bored and often went out for bike rides, chasing one another and kicking each-others bike wheels hoping that one of us would fall, for us it was the only entertainment available in the city at the time.
Until one day the most amazing thing happened, something that money can not buy.
It was a sunny day, we decided to take our bicycles for a ride and as we were going back to my brother’s apartment, down this little alleyway. But out of nowhere it started to rain like I had never seen before.
We started laughing, for no reason whatsoever, it felt like something got into us. It was the kind of laughter that we could not control, we were riding the bikes and laughing out so loud that I almost felt that I was running out of breath.
People who walked by just stared at us. I was trying to tell my sister to slow down because she was riding too fast in the rain but I couldn’t, the laughter did not let me get one word out of my mouth.
If you have experienced something similar to this then you would understand where I am coming from and if not, I hope you will – it is simply an amazing feeling.
